With only a few days left until our pop up on Hackney Road it's time to get excited! Below we have briefly collated all the information that you may need if you plan to pay us a visit.
What you can expect to find at the pop up
Books, books, and books. Most definitely books. We are brining both new and preloved books to the venue for you to browse and enjoy. Our new and staple accessories will of course also be available, as will the posters. So there will be plenty to browse if you are in the mood for some shopping!
We also want to make the space welcoming to just visit. We will have some seating available if you want to come in for a read, a catch up with friends or to just relax. The venue has a little outdoor patio so if the weather allows we will make the most out of this area as well.

In our last pop up the chessboard was in high demand which was great to see so we are bringing it along this time as well. We are also stepping up the game with a little competition if you are feeling creative... We will have a poetry station where you can let your creativity create a poem which could see you win an ASB signature Tote Bag and a gift voucher worth £20 to spend in our web shop!

If you would like a more detailed guidance, please see our event details here https://www.asbookshelf.co.uk/pop-up-event
What the accessibility is like
The door is wide enough for wheelchairs to come through. There is a step inside the shop to get to the main part of the venue. If a ramp is required in order for you to enjoy the space we have a wheelchair ramp available so please do let us know and we'll assist you.
Please be aware that there are no accessible toilets in this venue. The only toilet is situated in the basement and is accessed through steep stairs only.
A few more things that may be good to know
Animals, such as support animals or guide dogs, are welcome to join their humans in to the shop. We do ask that you ensure they are under your strict supervision at all times. The same applies to children. We don't offer many young reader titles at the moment, but everyone is welcome to visit the shop!
You are allowed to bring your own drinks inside the shop. This does however exclude alcohol and alcoholic drinks due to licenses so please bear this in mind.
Although we will be playing some soft background music, we are still a bookshop and if the volume is too loud for you to be able to comfortably enjoy or read - don't hesitate to let us know! We also ask that you respect other customers who may want to enjoy a quieter and more relaxed setting, and keep voices at a lower level.
Other than that...
We just hope you will enjoy our event! We're super excited to see you browse our books, ask for suggestions, or discuss everything bookish or political. If there is anything you are unsure of still or that we haven't covered, please don't hesitate to contact us. You can ask in the comment section below, email us at contact@asbookshelf.co.uk ,or write to us using the chat function on the website.
We hope we'll see you there!
